Everyday I have less doubt about it. The EV (electric vehicles) religion has just begun, and no one will be able to stop it. Read the full article

Electric Bicycle World Tour is using solar panels to recharge the extra battery.
The panels are 12Volt 20 Watt. They have been wired in series to produce 36 Volts at 60 watts.
It is a Morningstar TS45 controller which is designed to be used at 12, 24 or 48 Volt.
However the controller is capable of being programmed via RS232. So I reprogrammed the 12 Volt settings to run at 42 Volt which is the voltage required to charge a 36V Lithium Ion Polymer battery.

EBWT get the lead on electric bike category at Taupo, two days before the bike challenge ends!! The other electric cyclist, Craig Killey, missed one stage due to technical problems. Nice stage in the afternoon, but really hard in the morning. Wind, rain, hills, and an amazing downhill, where one of the top cyclist reached 88 km/h!

Pedalling hard in the morning, and doing it well in the afternoon.
Denisa performs amazingly up hills, but only human power can bring her up to 35km/h on flat, so even on electric bikes you have to pedal! Riding most of the time alone, the last 20 flat km were the biggest mountain for us. Denisa (Wisper 905 se World Tourer) and myself, did our best today. We win a stage on Electric Bikes category for the first time! We’re happy. The other electric cyclist, Craig, finish second on our category. Go up a bit on the General Classification and awake e-bike interest among the top cyclists. Good day.
And from yesterday, EBWT donate his beautiful jersey sponsored by Electric Bikes New Zealand, to be given to Electric bike winner category. Have a look at Craig’s opinions after yesterday stage!

Today is the second day of EBWT participating on Wellington to Auckland bike challenge. I’m not the only electric cyclist, we are two, and the other one got a 50km/h bike! So no way to compete against him or any of the other cyclist with their 7kg bike. I managed to pedal hard on the flat being able to keep 35km/h for several Km (my bike weights 22kg), and also down hill up to 60km/h. But is impossible to beat this professional cyclist with Denisa. But I’m happy, Denisa performed well and myself too! Read the full article
